ASSOCIATE SOFTWARE ENGINEER JOB DESCRIPTION AT MOODY’S:
Responsibilities of a Software Engineer at Moody’s India:
- Design, code, enhance, and test financial software applications using Java/J2EE tech stack.
- Apply problem-solving and analytical skills to develop solutions for business requirements.
- Contribute to the feature development of web applications based on service-oriented architecture (UI, Services, databases).
- Collaborate with development team leads/architects on technical direction, working with cross-functional, globally dispersed teams.
- Evaluate functional requirements for new design/development tasks.
- Complete documentation and procedures for software application installation and maintenance.
- Participate in design, architecture, and code reviews in an Agile environment.
- Provide production support by solving incidents, root cause analysis, code defect fixes, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
KEY SKILL REQUIRED FOR THE MOODYS CAREER 2023:
- Hands-on expertise in Java, J2EE, JMS, SOAP/REST, SQL, JSON, and XML-based applications.
- Exhibit a solid understanding of Object-Oriented design and development principles.
- Hands-on experience in Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and proficiency in Web Services (REST and SOAP).
- Familiarity with Java-based frameworks such as JPA, Springboot, Spring, Hibernate, etc.
- Proficiency in Microservices and understanding of design patterns.
- Prior experience in Agile Scrum methodologies and exposure to other Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approaches.
- Strong SQL knowledge and adeptness in working with databases.
- Experience with integrated development environment (IDE) tools like JBOSS Studio, Eclipse, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with build/dependency management tools like Maven and Source Code Management (SCM) tools such as Subversion, Bit Bucket, GitHub, etc.
- Expertise in application containerization, including tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Platform9, ECS, EKS, Openshift, and Cloud Foundry.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and proficiency in services like API Gateway, IAM, S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, EKS, ECS, Kafka.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER JOB AT MOODY’S:
BE/ B.Tech in applicable engineering field.
